Senior Tag 2008 Information and Rules
The rules have not really changed from the past years, and we also got some from other schools that have said they worked well. We want to have enough to keep people safe, but not restrict it to where it is no fun. When deciding where you can and cannot go, the only limit is the locations on the off-limits list. Otherwise, use your head. We are SENIORS; you should be smart enough to decide good from bad. Finally, ties will be handled in the fashion of a shoot-off. Rules will be explained in due time.
Worrying about the fairness of the judges this year should not be as big of a problem as years past. Anyone even semi-related to decision making is not playing in the game. This has always been a downfall in years past and our goal is to eliminate any possible disputes about it. Second, you will not find a more “heartless” person to run this than those kids that are. If our friends get out, we will call them on it. Don’t even try to bring this up as an excuse. Any attempt at bribing and/or manipulating of the judges in ANY way will not be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification.
Finally, let us sum up this little intro with a quick lesson. From experience, when you are caught doing something wrong (ex. A stranger catches you in their bushes) people are only agitated for a second. What makes them angry is when a “snot-nosed” teenager back talks and is short with them. If you are respectful and cooperate, nine times out of ten, they will be understanding and brush it off. A lot of times, if you really charm them, they will even let you continue whatever it is you are doing because they gain an instant sense of trust. Being a jerk because you are “tough” does not help you, it will only hurt you. Just like we said earlier, let us full fill the description of the class of 2008. Mature, Responsible, and Respectful (or something like that).
